Ciao!

Thank you for visiting my blog! Recently my love for the kitchen has grown into more than I could ever imagine, and discovering an old box full of my Mom-Mom, Margaret's recipes must have been fate. It left me wanting to recreate all of these perfect dishes. Each and every recipe was hand written and perfected over her lifetime, and I decided that it was my job to share these with the world. My food journey starts here. Mom-Mom died in 1995, which means I was a naive age of five years old when she passed. I never imagined the impact someone could have on a five year old, but she was able to leave lasting impressions that I carried on through the last seventeen years. Of course many Italians are known for their cooking abilities, but there must be something different about her recipes if not one of us has been able to experience her cooking for the last seventeen years, yet her legacy still lives on.

I always knew my passion for cooking and baking rooted from somewhere, but I was never exactly quite sure where. Growing up my dad was always the chef and baking was a rarity in my household unless you count my dad's quirky recipe experiments. The number of "accidents" that happened in the kitchen were always comical when dad tried to "wing it" as he liked to call it. Growing up with my Mom-Mom Margaret, he watched her create masterpieces by "winging it", however the results of her experiments turned into amazing meals and desserts. Seventeen years after her passing, those who were able to meet her still reminisce over her amazing dishes and cakes.

This is a tribute to you, Mom-Mom! I want to spread the joy you were able to spread with those who never got to experience a day with your Italian cooking.
